Concept, Design & Process
For this award-winning project, four spacious townhouses were adjoined to an existing historic house. In regards to the original home, Marshall Sabatini considered the original floor plan in the renovation process, but also added new features, like a loft looking down into the living room. Each of the neighboring townhouses was an identical footprint, and because of the area, our design had to consider tight setbacks. By keeping the original house and merging new construction successfully into its design, Marshall Sabatini was the recipient of the Lower Merion Township 2006 Historic Preservation Award for Structures Compatible with the Surrounding Historic Environment.
