Concept, Design & Process
This was a project in which the transformational impact on the look and feel of the home was significant. The client approached Marshall Sabatini to create a more inviting entryway, a remodeled exterior, additional kitchen storage space, and a spacious back deck to showcase the view.
Marshall Sabatini changed the house’s exterior from a kelly green (T-111) to a chocolate-stained cedar shake complemented by a rust-colored trim. We added details such as outdoor stone wainscoting to enhance the mountain home impression. Timber-style truss details were added in the gables of the newly constructed front porch. We created extra storage space for the kitchen by bumping out the front facing wall. In the back, we designed a 650-square-foot stone and cedar deck, employing cable railings for an unobstructed view.
