Concept, Design & Process
Located on Samson Street in Old City Philadelphia, this project entailed converting a small jewelry store space into a community coffee shop. As urban areas continue to be sought after environments, using architects to maximize the use of small spaces is a trend we have seen increase.
The greatest challenge presented by exceedingly small commercial areas is that the patrons are anybody who walk in the door. As architects small spaces force us to ask the question: how do we create a space that’s functional and aesthetically-pleasing for the owners to provide their goods, while allowing adequate space for the patron to enjoy their experience? This project was a successful collaboration between Marshall Sabatini and Integrity Construction.
