Concept, Design & Process
We’re often hired by our clients to assist in identifying the underlying structural issues of homes and buildings. After helping this client solve their home’s structural concerns, they asked us to design their renovation.
We improved the curb appeal of the home by taking down the existing porch and replacing it with a new expanded porch. To complete the external transformation, we replaced all the windows and added a stone façade across the front of the garage. These changes integrated the house’s appearance into the rest of the neighborhood.
The garage was the starting point for the internal renovation, which significantly increased this family’s usable living space. We replaced an old sunroom and two-car garage, with a new three-car garage. We then created an expanded second floor over the garage, which includes a new playroom, study and modern bathroom.
For ease of access to the addition, we added another staircase to the home. The second set of stairs begins on the first floor in the existing family room, and connects to the additional rooms located above the garage.
